If you’re new to Blackpool or surrounding area or just here for a weekend or holiday and are looking for a community to connect with, please take a look at our Events calendar. We are a mixed bunch of people who get together to learn more about our faith and encourage one another as well as reaching out into the community.
At the moment we have a Sunday morning service with limited numbers allowed in the building. We are livestreaming these services on our social media channel . We also meet up on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm to watch the repeat online service for those who don’t have internet facilities.
We also have Connect group meetings during the week.
We have hosted various scheduled activities including Sunday evening Film Nights, Praise Evenings, Leadership Training and visiting speakers. Our social events, at different times during the year, are aimed for all from age 2 upwards! Youth Connect used to meet during term times (ages 11-17) but there are no meetups at the moment due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
When we are fully back on Sunday mornings in the church building our services will include our Children & Youth Ministry.
Look out for announcements on our social pages or visit our Events web page.
We are situated on Waterloo Road in the South Shore part of Blackpool just about 10 minutes’ walk from the seafront. The Gatehouse Church and Community Centre are on the junction of Waterloo Road and St. Anne’s Road, directly across the road from the Waterloo Hotel.
Sat Nav – Waterloo Road, FY4 3AD
By Bus – The No. 7, 15, 16 + 22 buses stop right outside The Gatehouse. Ask for Waterloo Hotel.
Our services are informal and we welcome everyone to join with us. At the moment we are meeting with COVID-19 restrictions in place so we ask that you abide by guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing of masks or face shields.
In August this year we pioneered a small group run under a Covid-safe environment as much as we could make it, which started on Sunday afternoons at 2pm. This is open to those who are finding isolation particularly difficult, to start meeting at church on Sunday afternoons to watch the online service together.
Our Sunday afternoon meetings at church are about an hour and half.
Informal style, whatever you feel is comfortable. You can stand or sit, raise your hands or not.
Dress is casual – so don’t feel you need to dress up. We are following the guidelines for wearing of masks or face coverings during our meetups under COVID-19 restrictions.
We don’t have any child care facilities but include a Children’s ministry when the church starts meeting full-time again. Connect with us online to get updates.
