What to Expect

What to Expect

If you’re new to Blackpool or surrounding area or just here for a weekend or holiday and are looking for a community to connect with, please take a look at our Events calendar. We are a mixed bunch of people who get together to learn more about our faith and encourage one another as well as reaching out into the community. Come along on a Sunday morning at 10.30pm and receive a warm welcome.

WHAT’S ON AT CHURCH?

We have a Sunday morning service at 10.30am including our Children & Youth Ministry. We also live stream these services on our social media channel for those who cannot attend in person.

We have a Connect group who meet on Thursdays for fellowship, prayer, Bible courses and focus on community and look for ways to serve others.

In the past we have hosted various scheduled activities including Sunday evening Film Nights, Praise Evenings, Leadership Training and visiting speakers. Our social events, at different times during the year, are aimed for all from age 2 upwards!

Our Youth Connect is called Limitless Blackpool and meet during term times (ages 6-13) at the community centre.

Look out for announcements on our social pages or visit our Events web page.

We are situated on Waterloo Road in the South Shore part of Blackpool just about 10 minutes’ walk from the seafront. The Gatehouse Church and Community Centre are on the junction of Waterloo Road and St. Anne’s Road, directly across the road from the Waterloo Hotel.

WHAT ARE OUR SERVICES LIKE?

Our services are informal and we welcome everyone to join with us. At the moment we are meeting with COVID-19 restrictions in place so we ask that everyone abide by guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing of masks or face shields, where possible.

HOW LONG ARE THEY?

Our Sunday morning meetings at church are about an hour and half.

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE OF WORSHIP?

Informal style, whatever you feel is comfortable. You can stand or sit, raise your hands or not.

WHAT IS TYPICAL ATTIRE?

Dress is casual – so don’t feel you need to dress up. We are following the guidelines for wearing of masks or face coverings during our meetups under COVID-19 restrictions.

IS CHILD CARE AVAILABLE?

We don’t have any child care facilities at the moment but do have a Children’s ministry on Sunday mornings during the service. We have three different groups – creche for ages 2-4/5 and Sunday School for ages 4/5-11. We also have a Youth group for ages 6-13.
