Here at the Gatehouse Church we usually have a number of ministries and ministry support teams all run by volunteers who want to serve God and the local church in their respective capacities.

We always welcome new volunteers for our ministry support teams so please speak to a Steward at church or one of our leaders.

Children & Youth Ministry

Kay Walker heads up the Children’s ministry at the Gatehouse and is lead Safeguarding Co-ordinator. Paula Tamaki is the Youth Work leader. Emma Gaze is the Projects Developer at Limitless Pioneers. During non-COVID times we have three different groups for your children and teenagers to enjoy. Creche for ages 2-4/5 and Sunday School for ages 4/5-11 and Youth for age 11-18. Hospitality (Teas & coffees)

When we run normal services the Teas & Coffee team is headed up and co-ordinated by volunteers. We are always looking for new members who would like to volunteer to help set up on Sunday mornings in this vital ministry. Please contact Kay at church if you’re interested in becoming part of this team.


During non-COVID times here at the Gatehouse we have a Visiting Team headed up by Kay Walker. To ensure people in hospital are visited as least once a week and to help everyone feel connected and valued and ensure everyone is cared for. Worship team

The Worship Team is led by Julie Green. Our mission is to Work as a team united together in worshipping God. Help lead all of us into the presence of God to lavish our love on Him and see Him transform our lives and communities. That we will be His people in the right place at the right time and see Him working in and through our lives.


The Finance Team here at the Gatehouse Church is led by Liz Hall. We are looking for volunteers who will help after each service to count the collection. Welcome team

The Welcome team has a band of helpful volunteers who are always ready to lay out the welcome mat and assist visitors at our church meetings. If you would like to be part of this vital ministry please speak to a steward at church.

Tech Team

The Tech Team are responsible for four aspects of church life. These are the sound & vision desk, the church website, the ‘What’s On’ calendar and social media. We are blessed to have some outstanding people in the team. Not only are they conscientious and hardworking but they are all supremely talented in their various fields. Prayer Ministry

Friday Prayer On Friday mornings a small group of dedicated prayer warriors come together to pray for any needs the Holy Spirit lays on our hearts. At the moment we pray mostly in the “upper room” but when the downstairs prayer/counselling/ministry lounge is completed we hope to use this so that we can intercede without being interrupted. Connect Groups

Connect Groups are small groups that usually meet online during COVID restrictions or in the Gatehouse church at other times. The aim is for people to connect with each other and with God and to grow as disciples. When we meet up there is generally laughter, discussion, learning, prayer and worship. In April 2019, as part of our outreach programme, the Gatehouse church opened our doors on Tuesday mornings to invite passers by for a brew and chat. We have a number of enthusiastic volunteers and anyone is welcome to drop in for a coffee or tea and a chat and… possibly, a biscuit or two!
