Forgiveness

At the morning service today we had a powerful message from guest speaker, Valerie Fraser, about forgiveness and what it means to forgive other people for wrongs they have done to us in the past. The scripture verse was taken from Matthew 6:9-14 where Jesus taught His disciples to pray. Verses 12 and 14 speak about us forgiving others as God forgives us. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,10 your kingdom come, your will be done,    on earth as it is in heaven.11 Give us…

Water Baptisms

On Sunday morning 29th July 2019 we had two baptisms here at the Gatehouse Church. Nesto and Kyle went through the baptism waters in obedience to the command of Christ. They were baptised by Gatehouse Leaders Peter Young and Liz Hall after confessing their faith in Jesus. Before being baptised Nesto and Kyle went forward to give their testimonies and told the congregation how Jesus had changed their lives. Afterwards hands were laid on them for prayer and to bless…

The Five Solas

Over the next 6 weeks Adam Lee will be hosting a Bible Study looking at the foundational principles of the Protestant Reformation – the five Solas (Scripture Alone, Faith Alone, Grace Alone, Christ Alone, and God’s Glory Alone), followed by a DVD on the final session. In 1517 Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to a church door in Germany, which then went on to split the church into two sections: Catholics and Protestants, and these five solas are the…

What are you thankful for?

So often we can take things that we have for granted. I was looking through some stuff today and found this video which asks the question are we thankful for someone, something or somewhere? It just made me think of a list of things that I’m thankful for right now. The Bible says: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Phillipians 4:6 The more we give…

Paul Mielke: Pais Youth Worker

It’s been over six months since I came to Blackpool last September. What can I say, the time really seems to have flown by so fast and I can’t believe it’s actually only four months to go until I go back to Germany. So far I feel as though I have come to know so many at the Gatehouse. One advantage of being in a small church is that you can get to know every person which I have really…
